Two women found shot in Janesville, police launch homicide investigation

MADISON (WKOW) — Janesville police confirmed they are investigating a double homicide.

Janesville police were called about 3:20 a.m. Monday for a report of two people down in the area of Midvale Drive and Deerfield Drive, near Interstate 39/90.

Police discovered both victims were women and both suffered gunshot wounds.

They were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital where they died as a result of their injuries.

Police are not releasing the names of either victim until the family can be notified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
