ROCKFORD (WREX) - After Rockford Christian and Rockford Lutheran postponed a January matchup because of snow, they reconvened Monday night in the Royal Lions' home gym.

Rockford Christian beat their rivals in a 67-61 victory where the largest margin for either team was eight points. It was officially a non-conference contest despite both teams in the thick of a tight Big Northern race.

Lutheran holds a 7-0 record in BNC games, with Rockford Christian at 5-2 in conference, tied with Winnebago for 3rd. Rock Falls is in 2nd at 6-1.

The Royal Lions split the season series, earning some revenge for a 61-60 loss to the Crusaders on December 13.

Monday's game could provide a playoff preview, with both teams set to be in the same 2-A regional in a few weeks. That bracket and schedule will be announced this Friday.
