ROCKFORD (WREX) — A man is accused of robbing a Rockford T-Mobile store.

Vonte Spain, 27, is charged in an armed robbery at T-Mobile, 2430 Charles Street, on May 5, 2019.

Authorities say Spain was one of two men who walked in the store wearing masks and demanded employees to open the safe.

Spain and another man allegedly ran away with an employee's cell phone, keys, wallet, several iPhones and Beats headphones. The vehicle used in the robbery was stolen out of Chicago, according to the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office.

Spain will be in court next on Jan. 15. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
