Rockford man faces 39 counts of first degree murder stemming from Oct. shooting

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford man accused in an Oct. 15, 2019 murder faces 39 counts of first degree murder, according to the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office.

Eric Lorenzo Brown, 29, was indicted by a grand jury Thursday in a Winnebago County court.

Rockford Police said officers responded to 4874 Harrison Ave. Oct. 15 for a shooting. Police said when officers arrived they found Robert Wash with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Brown was later charged in the murder. He faces up to natural life in prison.

He is due in court again in front of Hon. Brendan Maher on Dec. 19, at 8:30 a.m. in the Winnebago County Criminal Justice Center.
