Rockford woman indicted on child abuse charges

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford woman has been indicted for physically abusing multiple children in her care in earlier this year.

Wanda Motten, 48, of Rockford, was indicted on multiple counts of aggravated battery charges.

In May, The Rockford Police Department received a complaint that four children, between the ages of one and eight years old, had been abused by Motten.

Aggravated Battery is a Class 3 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 2-5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a year of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Motten is scheduled to be arraigned on November 21st, 2019.
