NIU faculty union, board come to tentative agreement

DEKALB (WREX) — After 2 years of bargaining, the tenure-track faculty at Northern Illinois University and the Board of Trustees have come to a tentative agreement.

The United Faculty Alliance released this statement,

“We are glad that this lengthy process is over and we can devote all our attention to our students, classrooms, and research. We believe that the agreement improves working conditions for tenure-track faculty and will allow them to continue to provide a high-quality education to NIU students.”

Details of the tentative agreement will be provided to UFA members, who will get time to review before holding a vote for ratification.
