Former Rockford standout athlete Joel Box arrested

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) — Joel Box, a Rockford native and former high school basketball star at Christian Life, is arrested and now being held in the Adams County Jail in Quincy.

Box was arrested on accusations of theft of more than $10,000.

Officials with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office say Box was arrested on Wednesday.

The Rockford Police Department assisted Officers with the Sheriff’s Department and the Quincy Police Department in the arrest of the basketball coach and trainer.

Rockford authorities took Box into custody and brought him back to Quincy where he was lodged in the Adams County Jail with a $100,000 bond.

In June, the Rockford BBB Chapter issued a warning about Joel Box Evolution Basketball, is a youth basketball training and select traveling team program based in Quincy.
