Cassandra Bretl

Cassandra Bretl

Multi-Media Journalist

Cassandra joined WREX in July of 2019 as a multi-media journalist after graduating from The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism, a Digital Arts and Culture certificate along with an American Sign Language minor.  Cassandra has always enjoyed storytelling and writing. After a journalism class in college, she felt confident about her role as a journalist but remained open minded about how to best use her skills for a career. This is where she found her niche in TV News.

Cassandra has numerous published works on student powered online news platforms called the UWM Post and Media Milwaukee. She wrote an autobiography for a Milwaukee Press Club Hall of Fame nominee and attended Milwaukee’s 171st birthday celebration where she interviewed Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

A Rockford native, Cassandra brings her skills back home to be an active storyteller in her community.

You can find Cassandra at local coffee shops or restaurants with her friends and family.
