FBI searches for masked bank robber in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) — The FBI Chicago office says it is looking for a man who robbed the Chase Bank on North Main Street Wednesday morning.

Rockford Police and the FBI responded to the bank at 3699 North Main Street at 11:35 a.m.

The FBI says the suspect wore a black knit hat, dark hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, a white surgical mask, white shoes and black gloves. He is 6’0″ tall and roughly 25 to 35 years old, according to the FBI.

Photos from the FBI show him pointing a gun inside the bank.

It’s unclear how much money was stolen from the bank.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
