ROCKFORD (WREX) – Kids got to experience their favorite video games in a different way at the Discovery Center Museum on Friday.
The, “Game On,” event featured massive Tetris blocks, LEGO Mario Karts, slingshot Angry Birds and much more. The event focuses on getting kids away from the TV screen to outside and interacting with others. While it is geared towards kids, the event has a way of even getting parents involved.
“I think it’s just wonderful to see everyone coming out,” said Discovery Center Museum educator Maggie Ruggerio. “So we have the little guys coming out and they’re squirting the water, or they’re coming up and playing with the Tetris blocks. We have some of the older kids, and then we have some of the adults who remeber playing some of these games growing up.”
The Discovery Center Museum continues its weekly family series next week with an emphasis on things that fly.
