Rockford Fire responds to 90 calls during blizzard, including plow truck fire

ROCKFORD (WREX) — It was a busy 24 hours for first responders during the biggest snowfall on record for Rockford.

Between noon Sunday and noon Monday the Rockford Fire Department responded to 90 calls for service. That includes calls for fires, EMS calls and other incidents.

The fire department responded to 5 crashes with injuries and a plow truck fire.

No one was hurt in the plow truck fire. Officials say the city of Rockford contracted the plow truck to remove snow from residential neighborhoods.

Rockford saw record-breaking snowfall Sunday night into Monday, with up to 12 inches of snow in some areas.
